In 1969, the first Alpina 10 Super Compressor dive watch was introduced with two crowns, one for controlling the inner rotating bezel, which can be timed by a 1-60 minute scale. The "Seastrong" watch is water resistant to 200 meters, diamagnetic and comes with a unique super compressor case. To pay tribute to this long-established watch collection, Alpina launched the "Seastrong Diver Heritage" in 2016.
The new collection is not a simple re-enactment, but a modern interpretation of the classic aesthetics of Swiss watchmaking,replica hublot which is the cornerstone of any vintage diver's watch collection.
The new Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage watch features a 42mm diameter bronze PVD stainless steel case with two screw-in crowns at 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock to meet modern standards. The upper crown is decorated with a grid pattern for adjusting the internal rotating diving bezel; the crown is used to set the time and date. The watch's waterproof pressure is up to 30 bar, which is equivalent to a diving depth of 300 meters / 1000 feet.
The Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage is equipped with an AL-525 self-winding calibre that has been modified by Alpina based on the Sellita SW 200 calibre. This self-winding movement contains 26 jewel bearings with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 38-hour power reserve. The watch features an elegant brown dial, a brown or cream-coloured inner rotating bezel, brown or beige markings, a calendar window at 4 o'clock, a rose gold-plated hour markers and a white-coated luminous pointer.
